It’s not the best idea to race a marathon 5 weeks before an Ironman but I couldn’t resist! We have this beautiful big marathon just down the mountain in St. George and I wanted to be a part of it again this year! I knew I would be in decent shape from training and racing this season and was hoping for a new personal marathon best but I wasn’t willing to sacrifice Ironman Arizona to go sub 3 hours. So I ended up with a 3:03:40 and I am thrilled with that! It shows that I can run a decent marathon and should be able to go under 3:00 with some specific training and tapering. Future goal!
This is such a great race and course. Loved sharing it with my husband and a friend that I ran cross-country with during my exchange year at Provo High School + so many other friends out on the course! Nothing like a good hometown race party!

But for now, time to recover as quickly as possible and get back to the last few weeks of Ironman Arizona prep! The season ain’t over yet!
